Wicky - Trimming of cats

Wicky is a Turkish Angora, aged almost 12 years. Each year, he comes to our clinic for trimming. This is necessary because Wicky has long hair en therefore gets tangles much faster.

When a tangle stays for a longer time, it can become felt. The skin then doesn't get enough air and this may cause small wounds under the tangle. Therefore, it is important that you remove/comb the tangles out of the coat. When you don't succeed in this because your cat doesn't allow it, you can always make an appointment with us.

When a large number of tangles cannot be combed out of the fur, it is often decided to trim the cat. This always happens under anaesthesia.

After the anaesthesia, the cat receives an injection so he wakes up faster. For older cats, we can perform a pre-anaesthetically blood test to check on the functioning of the organs.

Some cats come for a trimming more often than once a year. This depends on how your cat responds to combing by the owner.
